Biotechs

Buried in yesterday's F.A.Q. thread was a disclosure from Ilene that we had received a Buy signal on CRIS yesterday, at about $4.48 a share. In the after-market, I sold some CRIS as high as $5.05. That's over a 10% pop and points out what is possible if you get these right, especially tech and biotech. Last night, one of my subscription services pointed out that in the past 11 years, the biotech sector has posted gains from mid-December to late January nine times with almost half of those gains in the double digits. It may be a sector to look to in the days ahead for opportunities, especially if there are any significant insider buys.

Hi, A, there was a bpa insider buy, also I bought novn - no signal.

BPA got taken down today in a sympathy move, panic, uninformed selling; with $1.12 a share in cash and no debt, the stock at $4.80 looks good for a trade, or more. AGEN and SUPG are both worth looking at as well.

Yes, had to, it's a system trade. Can't pick and chose and expect the edge to be there.

Hello, Allan.

My posts appeared finally! Or if it's just me, we'll see in a minute.

For the last few years, I've made it a point to buy very cheap biotechs at the end of the year. (Though last year I was too slow, waiting till around the last week of Dec.) Maybe this applies equally to stocks in other sectors? Anyway, I'd like to put together a list for this year, like in the newsletter, when I have some free time. - Ilene
