July 2, 1949

From a card that came in the mail today:

It is important to honor our beginnings,
to remember that we matter
and that we have a place in this world
that no one else has.

May your birthday remind you
of how much it means
that you are here,
of how much your presence
enriches the lives of others.

Happy Birthday, Allan.
I read your blog, the investment advice, and your report on your relationship with your daughter. I am in somewhat of a similar paradigm, so I read your blogs with much interest. Like you (I think), I have developed a more intense and meaningful relationship with my daughters after my separation. Thanks for sharing!

All the best following your birthday Allan. Thanks for continuing to provide such meaningful insight into capital markets as well as life in general. Have a great holiday.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Spending the long weekend in Seattle, again. Beautiful place. Staying in downtown Bellevue, very, very nice, convenient and half the price of Seattle hotels for the same level of service. Shopping for new BMW and eating well, very well. And of course, still trading.

Has something happened which is prohibiting you from posting as much as you used to?

Thanks for noticing, and asking. Yes, a convergence of personal, trading and travel issues (the first complicated, the last two positive) has caused be to take a short break from prolific posting. But as you can see, I am still here and am trying to be responsive, at least to the easy questions. Look for me to pick up posting as the summer moves along, or as inspiration strikes, whichever comes first.
