Company Says That Nanoviricides(TM) is Now a Proven Platform To Attack Bird Flu

WEST HAVEN, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 2006--NanoViricides, Inc. (Pink Sheets:NNVC - News), today announced it has received additional results from its FluCide-I(TM) efficacy studies performed at a major US research facility. On the basis of these data, Dr. Krishna Menon, the Company's Chief Regulatory Officer, said that the drug candidate tested was worthy of filing an Investigational New Drug Application (INDA) with the FDA. "The results were so positive that with an appropriate dosage protocol, it may be possible to save human lives even in bird flu cases using this test nanoviricide itself," suggested Dr. Menon.

HI A:

NNVC, another gap to be filled?

$2.76 if you use Friday's closing price, or $2.85 if you use the high from Friday.

Anyone want to take bets on whether this gap gets filled?

I put a buy order in at $2.76

Greg, NNVC has only a 20M share float (100M shares outstanding). I think it has as much a chance of hitting $5 as it does $2.76 anytime soon.

From a post on Raging Bull:

"Here's what this PR means...

1. In simply testing the Nanoviricides system, NNVC actually has a drug (FluCide I) worthy of an INDA...hence, "exceeding expectations." This high level of success means that it will also be effective against H5N1 bird flu...which, in terms of this Nanoviricide, isn't much different at all from H2N1. In other words, this broadly targeted ligand won't discriminate between H2N1 and H5N1. It will neutralize them both. With further development of ligands, however, a new drug (AviFluCide) will be able to target H5N1 more specifically and effectively.

2. Nanoviricides aren't specific to any type of animal. They target viruses irrespective of whether they are in mice, birds, apes, or humans. Inject a Nanoviricide into the bloodstream of any living animal, and it destroys viruses; it's a simple as that. So we can be pretty certain that FluCide I will also be effective in humans. Combine this with the above, and we can be certain that AviFluCide will also be effective humans. Hence, a cure for H5N1 bird flu.

3. Nanoviricides qualifies for rapid approval by the FDA due to recent changes in the approval process as a result of bird flu. Therefore, FluCide I and AviFluCide will break records in terms of the time it takes to come to market. Not to mention the amount of money governements will spend to stockpile it.

4. Having proved efficacy of the Nanoviricides system, in general, it is now just a matter of time before ligands specific to HIV and Hep C are developed. When that happens, we already know it will be effective. Furthermore, as far as the FDA process, only the ligand itself will need to be scrutinized. We already know that the system itself works and that it's safe. "

HI A:

I hope NNVC does hit $5 before it fills the gap at $2.76, then I will feel more confident about another test of the highs, when I get back in on the cheap.

I am hoping for a real climactic blow off wave 5 topping process here, as I am moving back to cash now to await the coming interim correction and opportunity for bargin hunting to follow.
