System update

E-signal chart doesn't complete hourly bar until top of hour
But, internal auto-trade system flipped Long on half-hour
(one hour after Open)
In the end, these all equal out, but for now system is either Long or Short, depending on persoanl trading/charting preferences.  Sticking to e-Signal for official system stats.

Obama's Big Sellout

Matt Taibbi on Obama’s Economy

In “Obama’s Big Sellout”, Matt Taibbi argues that President Obama has packed his economic team with Wall Street insiders intent on turning the bailout into an all-out giveaway. Rather than keeping his progressive campaign advisers on board, Taibbi says Obama gave key economic positions in the White House to the very people who caused the economic crisis in the first place. Taibbi also points to the ties Obama’s appointees have to one main in particular: Bob Rubin, the former Goldman Sachs co-chairman who served as Treasury secretary under Bill Clinton.

Click above for Taibbi’s video breakdown of his argument in which he identifies the major players on Obama’s economic team, untangles the web that ties them to Rubin and points to how these relationships play into the financial “reforms” the Democrats are currently pushing through Congress. — Rolling Stone

TZA/IWM system update

TZA system trade update

Reversal "Go Long" level @ 11.77

Strategy note:

"They," recently lifted margin requirements for TNA/TZA to triple regular margin requirements, apparently in an effort to destroy any semblance of leverage advantage for ordinary investors.  Thus you may as well stick with the underlying index, IWM, buying 3X the number of shares, depending on your brokerage commission levels. ("They," will probably triple commission rates on these etf's next).

As far as I can tell, there has been no like adjustment on margin requirments for options,  either on the underlying index or triple leveraged etf, so therein may lie the best bang for the buck, as long as spreads between bid/ask on those options are tight.

For now I will continue to track TZA, but after a full pro forma backtest on deep-in-the-money options on IWM, it may become our index vehicle of choice and deep-in-the-money calls and puts as an aggressive trading strategy of choice.

(Spreads on TNA/TZA are larcenous, don't even think about it).

Pretty, pretty, cool

Don't know about the rest of you, but I think this is pretty, pretty cool stuff:

Some blowhard on another site was trying to dis AllAllan's track record this year, the same bullshit about being short against a market that was going up all year.  With 682% gains in GFRE and amazing discoveries like this TZA trading system, how dare anyone claim higher ground against what is available here, free of charge, day after day.

Sorry for the rant, but I am proud of my work and no one gets a pass for lying about me just to soothe his aged, wrinkled, bruised ego.  You know who you are, chief.
